    Another Netflix foreign film, and this one is from Poland.  Not many movies or shows I've seen come out of Poland but this one seemed like something worth while seeing.  This is the summary.  After a body is found sewn inside of a cow hide.  A local detective discovers a killer is recreating an 18th century "plague" of criminal punishments on a bunch of bad people.  Now, does this sound like something we have seen before?

    This Episode Alicia and I go to a late showing of Wonder Woman because we heard so much about this movie as well as checking out the interviews with the stars and the director. Since this is a DC movie not a marvel. I was of course cautious of this being a good movie. But we got to enjoy this film from a very different perspective.

    For an out of the ordinary review, We decided on a new TV series on Starz to review. The critically acclaimed novel "American Gods" created by Neil Gaiman comes to TV. I mentioned this series to Alicia early last year because we both are big fans of Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies). And this show has all the creative flair of the two of them in such different ways. Check it out, it is partially complex but both horror and entertaining at the same time. Here's the series summary.     Alicia and I reviewed this HBO movie produced by Oprah Winfrey because we read the book The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks a few years ago and really felt that this was an important message about a remarkable African American woman that effected science forever. So we wanted to see if the movie would give the family and book justice.

    Alicia and I went to the movies on the basis of the great reviews for this movie and the star studded characters in the movie. What we found out was this movie was filmed in Atlanta and O boy it was so cool to see Atlanta in its full form.

With this teenager based movie, we prepare ourself for what we don't know what to expect. The previews were fun but not a go out and run to (Like the Black Panther trailer).

    Alicia and I were excited to see the new movie from the new Planet of the ape series that are very very good. Its the prequel before the classic 1968 Planet of the apes movie with Charlton Heston. The emotional, exciting and very humanistic view of the movie is what keeps you engaged throughout this new edition of the series. It also fills in some gaps of the 1968 version. Worth seeing but here is our take.

• Dunkirk Movie Review

    In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.
    If you don't know Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors. His vision and story tellingability has fascinated me since "memento". But proceeded from there with the Batman trilogy, inception", Intersteller, the Prestige and Insomnia the sleeper of the group. I'm not a big fan of war movies but this was something I knew I would enjoy since Nolan had his hands on it. He wrote the script as well.

    Amidst the chaos of the Detroit Rebellion, with the city under curfew and as the Michigan National Guard patrolled the streets, three young African American men were murdered at the Algiers Motel.
    This episode Alicia and watch another one of the best directors working today (Kathryn Bigelow ) The director of the previous two blockbusters The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty. Since we didn't have much history of what went on in the city of Detroit during this era. We weren't sure if this was worth going to see But when we found out Kathryn was director it, I knew we had to see it. This is a very intense and contemporary movie of what is going on in our society right now.

    Alicia and I went to this movie ready for some kick ass spy stuff and really trying see what this movie was all about. We saw some pretty good major actors in this movie along with Charlize Theron that help her along her trip to find the proverbial spy list with all the agents in the whole wide world.

    This episode Alicia and I go see the movie Girls trip. Not top on my list but we heard a lot of critical pluses about the movie and it did have some great veteran female leads. so we took the chance and went to see it. Yup I went too. What we found was something that wasn't what the trailers totally represented or what the normal raunchy buddy trip normally shows us.
    Best friends Ryan, Sasha, Lisa and Dina are in for the adventure of a lifetime when they travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Along the way, they rekindle their sisterhood and rediscover their wild side by doing enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.

Very interesting differences between the two movies as well as sticking to the same story line but in a modern way with updated special effects and a more sinister crazy ass clown

A crazy alternative society that enslaves women and have a certain set of women used to bear children for the rich oligarchy. We wanted to see this series because of the strangely relevant way we see this can happen due to the disrespect women are receiving from men in power. Whether its the business sector or the government.

    Today Alicia and I went to the movies to see Blade Runner 2049. We are such fans of Denis Villeneuve that I had to see this movie regardless of the reviews and ratings. The day before we sat down and watched the original Blade Runner with the main protaganist Harrisson Ford. This one stars Ryan Gosling as the new Blade runner hunting older replicants trying to stop a potential PR disaster with the way replicants and humans see their reality. This is such an interesting movie. See what we think about it. You might be interested the way we both see it.

    Alicia and I sit down to watch this independent release film about a rape murder on an Indian reservation. This slow moving crime drama suspense is worth the watch with good actor. Absolutely good writing and a decent directing job. This wasnt on our list but based on the critics comments and the directors track record of good directing and writing. I wanted us to see this unorthodox movie.
    Cory Lambert is a wildlife officer who finds the body of an 18-year-old woman on an American Indian reservation in snowy Wyoming. When the autopsy reveals that she was raped, FBI agent Jane Banner arrives to investigate. This psychological series about the FBI behavior science unit gets us in to the mind of the FBI agents that tried to figure out the deviant behaviors of these killers. A slow but well worth it series.
    In the late 1970s two FBI agents expand criminal science by delving into the psychology of murder and getting uneasily close to all-too-real monsters. Mindhunter is an American crime drama web television series created by Joe Penhall, based on the true crime book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker.

This love, spiritual and exploration of time story is an interesting view of what love and time does to a person when you have no control of what can be done.

    Alicia and I were moved to see this film on Netflix by the reviews and the Golden Globe nomination of Mary J. Blige. An interesting movie we initially thought was a typical southern white family story aligned beside a southern black family in the 1940's. But this movie showed an amazing directorial process and interpretation of the book "Mudbound" by Hillary Jordan by Dee Rees.

Alicia and I saw the mixed reviews (86% critics / 56% people review) and figured the people missed the true premise of the movie and the critics were right. So we find out, one of them was absolutely correct

    Alicia and get around to review Dark Matter after watching the first two seasons. The series are on us and we were excited to see the 3rd season come out. But highly disappointed to know it was the last season.
    When crew members working on a derelict spaceship awaken from stasis, they have no memory of who they are or how they got onto the vessel. The only clues to their identities are weaponry and a destination. They must band together to fight off the threats they face on a voyage filled with vengeance, betrayal and secrets.     This independent movie made by rapper Boots Riley from the rap group "The Coup". Was something Alicia and I saw previews on it and couldn't wait to see. This strange and controversial movie is a strong commentary on labor and social interactions in our society today. It takes a turn towards the end but we left the theater with a good feeling about this creative well acted movie that critics are really ranting about.​​​​​​​

I barely recalled anything about it but remember this series and the night stalker series. We review the first movie by Denzel Washington then go into the newly released one.     We have been Spike Lee fans for years but he has been in a serious bad movie slump for years (not just our opinion look at the ratings). So we were real cautious of this movie coming out and if it would be another Cliche Spike Lee movie. But when we read about the involvement of Jordan Peele producing this movie as well. We had to give it a try and especially being based on a true story. A black man tricking and joining the Klan.

    This movie wasn't actually on my list to see, to talk about or to even mention. But when we were hit with all of the critically acclaimed reviews as well as an Oakland story written and directed by African Americans and Hispanics. I had to give it a go. A very humorous, heartfelt drama that will hopefully make you think about the day to day struggles of anyone trying to remove stigmas from their identity. ANd struggle to try to do the right thing in a very hard environment.

    This was the movie Alicia and I were pretty excited about. Since I make her watch all the asian cinema movies and anime with me.     We go to the movies to see one of our favorite bands of our childhood. Queen. Knowing almost all the hits and some that we did not know they made. We wanted to go to the theater and sing along with the screen. I was not a big follower of Freddie Mercury but we were aware of some of his exploits. So the lack of craziness they didn’t show wasn’t a big deal to us.

    Apple TV + has a few shows on their channel that seems pretty interesting that we took the time to check out when it came up. This month it was Captain America (Chris Evans) playing a lawyer who's son is a suspect for killing another child. The drama in which we go through pulls you back and forward of did he do it or didn't he. 8 episodes and an open ended conclusion of did his son really do it. This also was based on a book that was written in 2012 by a lawyer and writer.
